Tim Don is a four time World ITU champion, three time Olympian and the former Ironman World Record holder after an incredible 7.40 performance at Ironman Brazil. In the form of his life, Tim's dream of becoming Ironman World Champion was halted three days before the 2017 race when he was hit by a car during his last bike workout. The accident left him with a broken neck.
To have any chance of being able to compete again, Tim was fitted with a 'halo' while his injury healed - a metal frame that prevented him moving his neck by screwing directly into his scull. Tim has been through an incredibly difficult time during his recovery, but things are heading in the right direction, and he recently completed the Boston marathon. He talks to us about his recovery, the mental drive that keeps him going, and his hopes for the future. It's an inspirational story about overcoming tremendous difficulty.
