Ever wondered what it takes to go from not being able to swim at all - to qualifying for Kona ? This week’s interview with Chris Palfreyman will help you understand the reality. We met Chris on our recent French training camp and immediately loved the guy. He has a great story that I think will resonate with so many of our listeners - what does it take to get to Kona, starting from zero? Chris did the work and managed to qualify - but as in so many stories, it was what he learned along the way that was the real reward, rather than actually getting to race in Kona. Racing in the heat this summer?

Dr. Dan Plews PhD won the overall age group Ironman World Championships in Kona in 2018, and broke the course record with the staggering time of 8.24.36. He finished off with a 2.50.56 marathon - the fifth fastest run OVERALL on the day! There’s no one better placed to help you understand how to effectively manage your race on a very hot day.

How swimming sub 55 minutes in Kona , he still got onto the bike course surrounded by athletes
