Joel Filliol is one of the world's best triathlon coaches.  From coaching Simon Whitfield to silver at the Beijing Olympics, Filliol has gone on to working with the likes of Mario Mola, Sarah True, Richard Murray and Katie Zaferes.  He's also been Head Coach for Triathlon Canada and British Triathlon and is currently the Olympic Performance Director for the Italian Triathlon Federation.

So if you've ever wondered how the world's best triathletes train together, or how they peak for races you'll love this interview.

You'll hear:

*Joel's thoughts on Tokyo 2020 and the qualification processes

*Which triathlete has surprised him the most over the past two years

*Why a change in coaching set-up will propel Non Stanford forwards.

*Why he's not surprised the Brownlees have struggled with injuries in recent years.

*The biggest mistake Age Group athletes make.

Cervelo is one of triathlon’s most iconic -and loved - brands, and this week we have a fantastic interview for all you bike geeks out there - an interview with one of Cervelo’s founders, Phil White, and Anna Dopico, who’s commercial banking and project management background brought expertise to Cervélo.

We hear the whole story, from designing the first Cervelo prototype as a college project in their basement, through growing the company one bike at a time, often selling bikes from the back of their car at expos in the early days, through the design of the iconic P2, P3, P4, P5 and P5X.

Anna has written up the story of the company into an amazing coffee table book, ‘To Make Athletes Faster’ - and we have a copy to give away to our listeners! To be in with a chance to win, simply leave a review of the podcast on iTunes, and post a screenshot of your review to the thread in the OATC facebook group - and you get entered into a prize draw ! We catch up with 12x Ironman champion Lucy Gossage this week. Lucy tells us why her win at Patagonman 2018 was the perfect way for her to transition away from professional Ironman racing and focus on new challenges in 2019.  Lucy gives us a her perspective on the bucket list race in South America and explains why having balance in her life helped her to be a better triathlete.

You'll hear:

*Why she opted for a race with no prize money and no support rather than an Ironman race in South America.

*What she will miss the most about racing as a professional long course triathlete

*About the race she regrets never having done

*Her tips on motivation

*Why you should ALWAYS read the race manual!
